Empowering and nurturing talent
Reinvesting beyond the brand
One of Mchezo’s passions is to explore new areas of growth – with a focus on sports development and financial inclusion.
Locker Room Bonus
At Mchezo, we take a unique approach to supporting athletes, exemplified by our innovative Locker Room Bonus initiative. First introduced in the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season, this performance-based bonus is awarded to all players listed in the matchday squad. The bonus is paid directly to the players' mobile wallets immediately after a victory, even before they leave the stadium, hence the initiative's name.
This prompt reward system not only provides significant financial benefits but also helps sustain player motivation.
Sports Sponsorships
At Mchezo, our mission is to empower grassroots sports and nurture talent, driving the growth of African-based sports to their full potential on a global stage. This commitment is exemplified through initiatives such as our support of Michelle Tau, who, with Mchezo’s backing, became the first taekwondo athlete from Lesotho in 20 years to qualify for the 2024 Olympics.
We are at the forefront of Rwanda's basketball transformation, sponsoring FERWABA and partnering with Giants of Africa. These efforts reflect our dedication to empowering youth, nurturing talent, and elevating African sports on the global stage.
Infrastructure
At Mchezo, we are committed to equipping athletes and sports federations with the essential resources for success, with infrastructure development being a key component of our mission.
A notable example of this commitment is the construction of a 3,000-capacity stadium at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence in Prampram. Construction of the artificial pitch at the stadium, named 'betPawa Park', was completed in 2024 as part of our broader initiative to elevate football in Ghana.
This project underscores Mchezo's dedication to fostering the growth and development of sports through strategic investments in infrastructure.
